Anthony, I especially like #6 and #7 - wonderful images and no eye contact needed, dude. So how "old" and how "good" are these
I'm not sure about how good But they are all from 2008 so not to old. The oldest photograph I have taken is from 2007 So I guess infantile in many ways
WOW, Funny and can take a decent snap shot Great post Ant. Thanks Tim
Your Welcome Tim. Chad would argue I can barely take a Decent snap shot. I tend to agree with him as it make him feel better and stops the whining LMAO
Hey Ant, how are you doing? Looks like I showed up just in time to see some more great shots from you -- #7 is my favorite of this set, also really like the eagle shot too. Chris
I'm doing good Chris......... how YOU DOoooin? Where the heck you been hangin your hate lately buddy? Glad you dropped by and commented!! I appreciate it stranger!!
Ant, these look great with rich colors and super detail. I imagine this are in sRGB color space (no Exif as usual ). I'm using the same Monitor you are using. I calibrated mine with Spider 3. Here is the deal with this monitor. Being a wide gamut monitor you need color managed application, such as Firefox 3. Try this: "Save as...." one of your posted images and then open it in Photoshop and compare the photoshop image with the posted one. You'll see that the posted one has more saturated colors especially the reds.
I still have mixed thoughts about this monitor. But it definately needs a good calibration. Now, Calibration is another chapter, or should I say another book?
One good thing: my prints match the screen images pretty closely.

Yes I do notice the color difference. But since I've never printed anything I guess I'm not affected by it yet > Just everyone viewing my photos has to suffer .. Hope I don't hurt anyones eyes to bad Thanks for the explanation and info. You and Dave sure are the informative ones around here. I'm not sure where that leaves the rest of us
I am still waiting on your final decision on the Spyder before I make the plunge!!
Next >> 800 and then a Medium format printer So I guess I better get the calibration ball rolling!!
Hey Ant, what up man... I ain't no expert at all... so I'll just tell you what I like. Cool Hummer, beautiful light, color, excellent comp, effective separation from the pleasant BG. Awesome BE portrait, great job on the whites, super sharp, no cloning artifacts. I like shootin' Terns, cool pose, again great job on exposure control, lots of sharp detail. Love #7 man... great profile, no eye contact doesn't bother me a bit. Great comp, and excellent BG. Good luck with the monitor, I'm sure you'll get it all worked out. Great stuff as usual, thanks. Kirk
Kirk thanks so much for you comments on some of the shotz. I found your reply quite thoughtful and pleasing Glad you liked them. I'm still thinking I should have taken the whites down a notch on the Tern........... hmmmmmm
#2 spot please You do want nits don't you One of those coyote shots is very nice And it is the one that looks like it is eating a pink orchid, well you say it is licking its nose but I see things differently #4 dock scene is neat, such a different texture than I am used to seeing, you did well controlling any hot spots buddy #6 is like #8...... a difficult angle to make look sharp. I don't think the extra sharpening in #8 helped, just seems a bit soft on the eyes and that is a critical nit on a pretty subject My official nit-ruling...........you got a good monitor, and, your looking very good on it Mr Ant Whit................ NICE! Nit ...Show more →
Hey buddy nice to see you again Literally
I must have hit the "HIDE" button while on the Iphone
Funny thing >> I also hit the "SUBSCRIBE" button on another post by accident too
LMAO
I was getting email alerts every time someone posted on a For Sale item
ughh this Iphone is such a PITA .........
Sorry you couldn't be first buddy >> But I"m guessing your used to being number 2
Oh that had to hurt and I'm so sorry I had to be the one to tell you !!
I'm don't see the eyes as being soft. It's not like a human eye that has a well defined Pupil / Iris edges against white sclera. Or maybe the 500 was back focusing a tad as this was before I did the Micro adjustment on the Mark III.
Either way >> thanks for the thoughts buddy << You keep me honest
Nello is being too nice Man that is a nice hummer shot for color and exposure I might be crop crazy but I would take another notch off that branch inward to remove that stub that is bugging me, would make the branch much more flowing out to you little hum-mer Baldy looks real good in the whites, clean nice image Ant, I am guessing the darks look good but the work monitor is questionable in that area #5 I like it! Would like it even more if you leveled it The water color with the bird colors works very well IMO #3 Great whites, my goodness those look good, I would think you may have even beamed this one?? Nice PP sir Nit-witt ...Show more →
Nello was not being nice He was just being honest
I could crop the bird a little tighter > but I was going for an Environment shot Good thought on the notch though.
I didn't beam the flights as I was trying to keep the weight and wind resistance down. It was a bit breezy that day .
Ant, Wow, these are pretty sweet images - all of them! My favorite by far though is the wolf in # 7. Detail, color, BG, etc. This one has it all. I'm not sure eye contact would've made it better. JayT
Thanks Jay >> I've been dying to ask, "So how much do you fish" I'm assuming a lot
Appreciate your comment on the shots Jay. Glad you commented and appreciate your thoughts on # 7.
Beautiful images Ant, They look great to me color wise on firefox3 with color management on with me new dell 24, Ron PS, Here is what I see on the new dell with Internet Explorer on the left that is not color managed and Firefox 3 that color manage has been enabled.
thanks Ron. Hope you and your sister Chadzilla had a Happy Chad day
Sure hope Ma stayed away from "The Whiskey Jar" this year!!
I was able to check my color management > It was set to true "ON"
My monitor isn't calibrated and I am not seeing "AS MUCH" difference that your posting in the two images.
Phenomenal set Ant, beautiful BE shot with a great pose Like the Otter shot and the Coyote images are by far my fav of this set. Excellent techs Sir Tom
So what MR Ant, you ask us a bunch of questions and now you can't even respond back to us I feel used.............again. Karl
