I decided a bunny was more appealing. This little guy is also from a rescue org. They are sure SOFT; definitely sweeter than the dog with the piercing eyes. Thanks for all the comments on my previous post.

Wow, piercing eyes! I hope it finds a deserving adopter.
That's a fine volunteer cause, Bev. I'm shooting a couple of weeks from now to help raise money for the SPCA.
Dreaming of a future day when people respect and value their pet companions, and shelters are mostly empty.
Of course, I also dream of a day that people all treat each other that well.

Hi Bev,

Wonderful shot. I love the expression you have captured. I was expecting to see your lovely little dog, but I am glad you chose this entry. Good luck this week.

Best wishes,

Steve S.

Hi Beverly ~ Wonderful shot! I too photograph down at the local animal control to raise awareness for the pets looking for homes. I mostly do cats though as no one bothers (not sure why). They seem to have the doggers covered most days, but I do shoot them sometimes too if their regular point & shooter isn't getting the good pictures.

This is a gorgeous girl! Sometimes the pits are just the nicest ones.

Keep up the amazing work.

Carolyn

Thanks everyone!!! I photographed a lot of cats, too (they have 81). Lots of sweet pets waiting for homes, and it's a nice way us photographers can help while also getting to take some neat shots of animals.

Great sharpness in the dog.
And good job capturing him against a light background; he really stands out!

Having tried to shoot many bunnies at the local animal shelter...I think you did a great job of getting eye contact and ears up...well done!

Hi Bev,

A lovely high key image with wonderful sharpness. I really like it. A wonderful shot, and I do think it is stronger than the one you posted earlier.

Best wishes,

Steve S.

What a cutie! I like the way his body blends into the white background. It makes his face stand out that much more.

Very nice high key image! Excellent.

I can just imagine that cute little devil saying, "Why would you think *I* chewed the cords?"

Thanks so much everyone! I'd never photographed bunnies before. The shelter let me come before visiting hours and set up in their adoption room, which is very nice size. I was able to get my background and 2 umbrellas working, and I was pretty much on my stomach or knees most of the time. They kept hopping off the background and going around the room under chairs, etc. Took 2 other people to corral them. Some just held still and posed. Always fun to shoot cute subjects though. I was happy to hear that the adoption rate for rabbits is very high.

Our doggie is as soft as any bunny!

Seriously, I love this image Bev. Since I'm the one who made the "piercing eyes" comment about the dog, it's incumbent upon me to praise what you've accomplished with the wabbit, namely that you've got another contrasty, graphic composition yet managed to impart a feeling of softness in the fur, the eyes, and the whole posture. Well done! Good luck!

[and I'm going to go home and practice talking like someone who doesn't spend every day reading academic books]
