I have not had the shutter replaced on my 1Ds MkII but I have had it replaced on my 1D MkII and I don't see the 1Ds being any different. It was just under $300.00. However, you will need to be careful because Canon service will try to tell you that you need the mirrorbox replaced as well to the tune of $975.00. They did it to me and if I remember correctly they tried it with Hammy as well. While replacing the mirrorbox is part of the shutter replacement for Canon film cameras it is not necessary for Canon Pro digitals unless, of course, you have over 1,000,000 actuations on it. They actually refused to replace just the shutter until I called the head of east coast marketing and customer service. Then suddenly the service center changed story and was very happy to replace just the shutter. I have heard that they have stopped that practice but I have no first hand experience.
