have now got the 30 day trial, and have to say i'm not impressed. the refresh is non existant. if i apply a filter i have to zoom the pic slightly for the change to appear. this happens with a lot of things. i have to zoom or move the pic slightly to make the change appear. this doesn't happen with cs3, and is very annoying. also some of menus appear greyed out unless i click out and then click back to the menu. very odd, and not sure what to do about it. i shan't be paying to upgrade if this is how its going to be...Show more →

Marbles? In my day round hadn't been discovered!
Well I seem to have lost mine...
Finally purchased Photoshop CS4 after years of making do with PSE 3...all I can say is, wow...! Have been going through the Lynda tutorials over the past couple of days and the depth of this program is amazing...
i was naughty, but adobe are more naughty. they have released cs4 for sale, but held back on the trials. it is actually available on the adobe site, but apparently you have to go through trying to download the lightroom trial, and then cancelling, and then something else. they really should have made it available straight away. instead of that, it has become available on torrent sites. and thats where i have got mine. its a trial version as per the adobe site, so it will run out in 30 days, enough time for me to evaluate, but so far not impressed with the lack of refresh. enough to say if i can't resolve it i shall be sticking with cs3
Running CS4 from CS3 and completley love it. There many subtle ergonomic tweaks that has been a welcomed surprize. The 64 bit and GPU thing are fantastic.
Brushes in RAW? Ooooo Weee.
Hey, my actions run just fine in CS4 - was worried. Smoking fast on this new box + Capture NX is fast too. Like the ACR, and Bridge too... Two thumbs up from this photog!

So sorry, that we poor people from the UK have upset you, you see we pay twice what you do in the US for our upgrades so now I can only afford a very small marble collection.

actions are not the same. they are a series of commands for the already built in functions.
