Looking forward to see the perfection you'll reach in another 7,000 posts.

One more thing. Where did you find that Harris Hawk? It's so beautiful!
You were at 100mm?? How did you manage that?
It's just breathtaking!
TIA,
DeeDee
Hi DeeDee,
I shot the Harris hawk South and a little West of Tuscon Arizona. Another FM'er had mentioned that a Swainson's hawk had been hanging out in that area and went out looking for while out there on a business trip. I didn't see the Swainson's but did see the Harris off in the distance bouncing along to the tops of the Saguaros. I found a place to park, walked down a small wash and waited for it. I was rewarded with a close flyby and got two shots off before it flew out of sight. I was lucky that I was packing light for the busniess trip and had the 100-400 with me or I woud have had nothing but clipped wings to show for the experience.

Congratulations on all of your wonderful work. That Harris Hawk image is one of the best raptor images I have ever seen anywhere, just stunning.
Thank you, Kirk. The Harris Hawk is the best shot I've taken of any hawk and it will take some serious luck before I get another like it
