Thanks for the feedback. I definitely know what you mean. I've been after him all weekend long and this shot has an uncluttered background that I liked. I took it with a 100mm macro lens to get the look I wanted, and the head just got chopped off. This look never really bothered me, unlike when people chop off feet in a full body image
The shots great Stan. Although i understand what Norm is saying i think the framing here works well, takes you right in to the focus of the shot without any distracting background. All i can do is tell you that it will get better, later on in life, they only look like this when there asking for money
Take care

I remember those days. You caught it perfectly. The head issue does not bother me as when mine were doing this all I could concentrate on was the mouth and the noise. Wonderful focus and a great entry for this WA.
Both of my boys had severe acid reflux as babies on up until they were toddlers *sigh*. Many days - I think I had that exact same expression. However, they are much older now (12 & 5) and we laugh more than we cry! Better days are ahead!
I love the cropping ... very good "emotion" capture, with the gooey mouth and sad eyes. Hope the little one evens out. It's so tough, you just never know what is bugging them some days!
Awwwww, doesn't take much to make them go from smiling to crying, eh? Really nice capture. I like the DOF, too. I often crop tight on faces, too, and my husband says "You cut the top of the kid's head off." Some people like it, some don't. I've read that for portraits the average customer wants all of their kid's head in the shot, which isn't always creative but one must satisfy the client. Good luck with the WA and the kiddo!
