p.3 #1 · 300mm f2.8's - narrowing it down

Well, I've ordered in a 300mm f2.8 VR because I'm tired of waiting unsuccessfully for the right AF-S II. I figure I can't go too wrong with new and I got one for $4300 plus tax, so I figure I did well anyway (they list at $4799).

I'll put it through its paces and decide if I have buyer's remorse within the 14 days, but I'm guessing it's done like dinner and I've got a new best friend forever now.

OK, not really, but I envy you big time! Congrats man. I'm still holding out hope for the zoom.

There will be no buyer's remorse. Trust me. It's my most used lens by a long shot.

Sorry Andre... I gave up on our dream lens too as you'll know...

Gary I sure hope so, because I'll be sleeping in the doghouse for a while now once the credit card bill rolls in...
