The hood may be large but it is especially effiicient due to the 'reverse' nature of the 24-70L's design. It's deep when you need it to be and vice versa

'Ridiculous' in your opinion, to me it does it's job well

At present there doesn't seem much saving in buying the 24-105 kit, but that will probably change

I am concerned about the quality of the lens with the 21 MP sensor and it is f4. I will wait to see raw samples of the lens on the 5DMK2 before deciding.
