p.1 #1 · How do you store your CF cards?

How do you store your CF cards? I have a bunch (10-12) that I want to be able to store together. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Dennis

Portable, safe protection and holds 10 CF cards perfectly.

+1 for the pixel pocket rocket from ThinkTank. It's what I use. I just wish they had a better fitting slot for the SD cards. I use the 1D MkIII and use both compact flash and SD.

I use a Canon card wallet. Bought it on ebay a few years ago. It's padded and holds 6 cards. I saw a few days ago an FM member is selling them on the B&S board.

IMO you can't go wrong with the Think Tank gear.......

I like the Gepe card cases for field use. Each holds only 4 cards though, but they're airtight and waterproof.

I have 40-80 CF cards with my at any given time - a mix of 512Mb to 4Gb cards - most being 2Gb.

I just throw them in a zipper'd pouch in my Pelican camera case. Most of the time I remember to zip it closed, but other times, I have to dig out a dozen or so cards from under gear.

If there not in my case, they're on my desk, laptop bag or pants pocket - which I find out after doing laundry - a good way to keep the dust off!

+1

Like Hammy, I take a more casual approach to CF card storage.

I keep mine in the Lowepro pouch that came with my StealthReporter D300 bag.
It holds up to 12 cards - enough for me.

I'ze got 40 GB in 6x 4GB and 2x 8GB cards (plus 10x 1GB that usually stay home). The ones that aren't loaded in cameras are in the original plastic cases. I try to keep close track of them, but ezery once in a while, they do a Hammy, and show up in the laundry or an unexpected backpack pocket.

P.S. one of the letters on my keyboard stopped working, I'm using "z" instead - it should be obzious which letter it is.

I store them right side up when empty and upside down when full.

TT/PPR for me--Face forward = empty, Facing backwards=full. Easy to separate and move between bags and carry separately.

If you want waterproof, noticed that Pelican has some new products designed for CF cards. Heavy duty of course.
