I would assume all the newest high-res DSLRs will take the largest size card on the market, but if you want to be absolutely certain, contact Canon directly.

After reading 84 pages and trolling google and canon webpage for information i gave up.
Does anyone knows what is max size CF card 5D MKII supports?!?
16GB or 32GB
I'm quite sure the 100 GB cards are supported and larger cards too. If the programmers were lazy they could possibly stumble on a potential FAT32 limit around 127 or 137 GB, but I doubt it.

Well 100GB cards are coming, why do you think there is a CF size limit of 16GB or 32GB?
I probably formulated my question wrong
Biggest card i have is actually 64GB, but it is in use on my PC, i have some 32GB and som 16GB luying around. Since Canon doesn't spesify any info i was bit intriqued
Thx for you answers
OT Wow, 100GB CF are coming, it would be bummer to loose 100GB of pictures
The first is FAT-32. That determines the size of the card in GB. All cameras for a few years now support that.
Two is UDMA-6. That's the speed of the card, equivalent to ATA-133.
The size of the card in the camera won't be a problem, because it supports FAT-32. Neither will the speed.
The problems people have been having wit UDMA-6 is in XP machines. Some of the slightly older models won't accept UDMA-6 (they also must have, at least, SP1, and preferably, SP2). This shouldn't be a problem for the flash cards as all you need is a Firewire 800 reader that does UDMA-6.

Does the 5d MkII have an in camera microphone? Does it have a jack for an external one?
Yes. It has a mini jack. Per Galbraith's site:
Sound is captured either by a built-in mono mic (located immediately beneath the camera's name badge) or by an external mic connected to a 3.5mm stereo mic jack (Canon is not producing an external mic specifically for the 5D Mark II). Two channels of sound are digitized at a respectable 16 bits/44.1khz in PCM format. Mic levels are adjusted automatically, with no manual override, whether using the built-in or external mic. Wind noise suppression is applied automatically and can't be either adjusted or turned on/off.
I'm glad I didn't wait. I love my old fashioned 5D, and I couldn't possibly care less about shooting movies with it.
I hope you all like your 5DII as much as I like my 5D.

A question to revive this desperate thread:
Do you think Canon will make us wait for another 3 years before to upgrade the 5D2?
Oh god, this is the start of the 5D Mark III rumor mill, right here. Of course the 3D and 7D rumors will continue as before, since the 5D's successor is officially the Mark II now...
I love my 5D too .... but I know I am going to like the 5D II twice as much! Forget about the HD video which is also not very important to me .... but the additional pixels will come in real handy for cropping .... and I like the 14-bit converter, expanded ISO range with lower noise, 3" real high-def screen (even better than 1Ds3), self-cleaning sensor, live view mode, 3 custom settings, partial weather sealing, AF micro-adjust, support for HDMI cards, 2 silent modes, etc, etc. There are close to 40 upgrades/improvements over the 5D. Best of all, I think it's priced competitively. And judging by the pre-orders and how merchants like B&H and Adorama have stopped taking more pre-orders, I think a lot of people out there are also smitten by the 5D II!

OK Let's go...they will either upgrade the AF or the x-synch or add a dedicated MLU button (so you don't have to remember which custom setting you put it in) or add a coffee maker. But definitel not more than two of those...destined evolution you know

Strange, I also thought the 5D II shot stills as well - darn well I better scratch that if it's just a glorified video camera
