EZ Prints doesn't even come close to WHCC. I have a Smugmug pro account for event photos, but don't use their printing service for portraits and weddings. I prefer a professional lab vs. a consumer lab for those types of photos.

LIza,
Thanks for the feedback. i have some prints coming soon so lets see how they rank up with the prints from whcc and the ones i do at home
I agree that print quality from WHCC is much better then whoever smugmug uses (although, admittedly, it's been a couple of years since I've used anyone other then WHCC).
However, I do love smugmug for everything else. It's a great photo hosting site, and very convenient for easy print ordering.
Don't want to intrude too much into the conversation, but I run a boutique printshop in Colorado Springs, specializing in Canvas prints or any Fine Art paper of your choosing. Canvas prints up to 60"; paper prints up to 64". I create custom ICC profiles for all substrates, and will happily share those profiles.
I'm proud to say that mine is the only external lab in the USA authorized to reprint Galen Rowell's work. I guarantee satisfaction.

I've just spent some time looking at Smugmug and was going to do a search here for opinions. Nice to find this thread.
Some images I sell and want the highest quality, others family members want. I'm no longer interested in giving family members prints. Everybody wants everything and think that digital is just free. Paper and ink do cost.
The images I sell I do want in a very quality format.
I like the idea of different 'gallerys' that smugmug provides.
If you want to sell prints for a profit, go for a pro account. I'm far from a pro photographer but I've had a smugmug pro account for a couple years and I think it's great. They've hinted that they'll have another pro lab working with them soon... by the end of the year from the sound of their hints. SmugMug isn't perfect but they are always making more and more improvements to satisfy customer requests. My site: http://pilotdave.smugmug.com.

Cheers!
I thought Calypso Imaging was their official print house? I notice they've also added Color Folio as another print house, but otherwise I don't see any reference to your company at Galen's MountainLight web site.
I have had a smugmug pro account for around 2 years and i am totally happy with them. I have all of my photos online and a guestbook. You can customize the site also using java and style sheets. Their customer support is a class act.
Glad to see others are in the same boat.
I use (and love) WHCC for my prints and gallery work.
I am not impressed by smugmug prints. Thin paper in thin and black saturation is ok, but not impressive.
But I do use smugmug for party and event print fufillment. Shoot it, post it, and let them do the rest. Getting those emails "you just sold 87 prints" is nice.
I would love to see something like a combo of smugmug web sales interface and WHCC quality.
If I could have only one, it would be WHCC hands down. Great quality, service, shipping speed and often a lollipop with your shipment!
Agreed. I've never been happy with SmugMug's prints.
WHCC is top notch. SmugMug would have kept my business if their prints were better. I've switched to Zenfolio because of their MPIX relationship but more importantly -- the ability to send print orders anywhere I choose.
