p.3 #1 · MKIII AI servo question

Maybe drink less coffee, because the user is responsible for this, not the camera

I disagree with this. When AI servo is working correctly, it begins tracking with the center AF point, but follows the subject if it moves off that point. The MIII seems to have an issue whereby it unecpectedly fails to track the subject as you would expect it to do. This is a marked change in behavior compared to my previous 1D-series cameras.

You're right it does look a bit like camera shake despite the flash and the high shutter speed. Maybe your sensor is vibrating at times it shouldn't be.

Or maybe it's your lens. The highlights off the eyes and teeth appear to have an unusual double refraction to them - almost like birefringence.

It could be a dud lens.

Its so entertaining to read bout soft focus stuff with the modern day DSLR ...

Some say it never happens ...
Some say it is random ...
Some say it is a specific manufacture ...
Some say it is AF logic ...
Some say it is Dust vibration senso clean ...
Some say it is inexperience ...

We know what a customer will say with soft images ...

He/she can say a lot of things... The truth is probably somewhere in the middle

Yeah.. It is very odd huh.. If I didn't get the same results from time to time with other lenses too, I would tend to believe that. Thanks for responding. I shot a bunch tonight with the same combo. Loading pics now. Interested to see how they look. Not apples to apples though... The ones shot tonight were under concert venue lighting..

Thanks again.

Glad you posted this about ZoomBrowser, I need to look at my shots to see if it's me or the MKIII that keeps missing on the AF, may just be me.

C.Fn III-8 -1or 2 and
C.Fn III-4 -1

Also adjust C.FnIII-2 (sensitivity) and C.FnIII-5 -1 (avoid hunting when AF loses subject)
