I think there is an interesting comparison is between this and the camera versus the human eye. The human eye sees the perfectly spelled paragraph whereas the camera sees this sample paragraph but nonetheless we recognize it as a picture because the human eye is so good.
I finally got back to this thread after about 6 months. At the time I wrote this I was really upset, spelling and grammar were definitely not at the top of my list of things to do.
Either way, thanks for the tips. And yes, English is my first of 3 languages.

As another poster remarked, the dumbing down of our language on a board full of articulate and intelligent members by one purporting to be a native English speaker is inexcusable. Why anyone would WANT to sound/appear so dumb is beyond me. You are what people perceive you to be and life is all about first impressions. As an educated man you know that Jim. Yet for some reason you feel compelled to defend this woman. I say save your energy for someone who has at least expressed enough initiative to learn how to speak and write minimally acceptable English. What you are doing is condoning the dumbing down referred to by myself and the previous poster. And you might also take the time to remind her that sentences are commenced with capital letters as are proper names. Her last post thanking you for your support of her ignorance of the English language indicates she hasn't even figured that out yet.
