Can't work out which one I prefer as you posted a B&W in another forum, there both great.
The port, cheese, bread plums and grapes have wonderful colour and texture. I'm just a little confused with the presence of the egg.
Thanks, Adam. I'm delighted that you got to see both of them and I'm glad you like them both. One might eat an egg along with all the other stuff. Hard boiled. For lunch, no? In the old Dutch Still Lifes they put together all sorts of odd things. I couldn't find any caterpillars or salamanders but I've seen many such unapetizing things depicted in those old paintings. Anyway, i thought the egg added an interesting bit of shape and color to the mix.
All best wishes,
Endre

As a fellow chicken keeper I immediately thought it was raw because it was in its shell. I did not think of it being hard boiling and yet to be de-shelled, probably because I don't eat hard boiled eggs! I'd have finish your Port off though!!
Looks yummy. Did you eat your setup? I tucked into mine as soon as I was done. It had been a while since I had a pear...what an amazing fruit, and it goes with Claret superbly. I wanted a crusty bread, but we didn't have any. Can you tell I'm hungry
The IQ is top notch, Endre. Clarity, and colors are wonderful. Others have mentioned the egg, but I think I remember you cracked an egg on that very table about 18 months ago for the WA topic of broken - didn't you? I like the image very much - well done.
Thanks, Jim, my friend! So glad it made you humgry. That was the idea. Absolutely, I ate the setup immediately thereafter. There still is some left, too, for late night snacks.
I did the broken egg on top of another similar-looking table that had glass on it. Quite a bit more than 18 months ago but still... That shot has become one of my most popular. I've sold several of them and it was selected from almost 3000 entries from all around the world to be among 87 photo artworks displayed in the 2007 "International Art Of Digital" exhibition. It's amazing what can be done with a simple little egg.
Fond regards,
Endre

Superb as usual. One tiny nit: I'm not sure about the bread crumbs. IMHO, they distract slightly from the near perfect reflection. But its clearly a matter of taste. I love the clarity of your image. It feels as if I could reach right into the screen and grab a few grapes.
