For people who own both of these lenses ( canon 135L & canon 200L )...
In portrait applications ( in terms of Sharpness & Bokeh )... which one performs best?
Thanks
From my copies of these lens:
- 200L2.8mkII is sharper and has much better microcontrast, specially corners are much better
- 135L seems to have smoother bokeh quality
- 200L2.8mkII is much better when both are wide open and there is not much difference in image quality when stopping down
- 135L clearly peaks at f/2.8-4 and is not as usable wide open as 200L2.8mkII
(- not relevant to portraits but 1.4x works much better with 200L2.8mkII and I find it hilarious when people claim 135x+1.4 you can get both - in paper yes, but not in real life that is not the case)
However depending on lightning, space available, background and other factors I prefer to use 85LmkII for portraits instead of 135L/200L2.8mkII.
