I look at some of the review on this lens and discovered that there has no filter canbe added to protect this lens. Is it a big trouble for you? Does this lens even have a lens cap to protect it?
Nikon made the design choice of IQ over filters (bulging aspeherical element). Canon made the choice of filter compatibility. Boo Canon.
I'm a Canon shooter on day 27 (of 35) waiting for Marks adapter. I find most of Canon's wides pitiful.

I just had to do some major retouching for a client that involved photographing a new product and dropping it into existing shots they provided. I could tell from the EXIF data that they were Canon 1DsMKII files (16bit, uncropped) shot with the 20mm lens. I composed the new item in a similar orientation and used my CZ-21/2.8 Distagon. I had to spend an inordinate amount of time adding blur, etc., and other types of image degradation in Photoshop so my object appeared similar in quality to the existing.

Hilarious, you should praise yourselves lucky it wasn't taken with one of Canons WA zooms
Thanks. The glow in the right part of the sky is the milky way. I will try it soon at f/4 and f/2.8, I hope the corners at adequate at the wider apertures.

Are there any adapter options for the 14-24 other than Mark's? Why don't generic Nikon adapters work?
Admitedly these are odd questions from a guy who has had Mark's adapter on order for a month. I guess I'm a pay first ask questions later kind of guy.......
I'm using a Fotodiox Pro adapter and shimming the aperture lever to get the correct f/ stop. With this method I can't adjust the aperture with the lens on the camera. I'm waiting for Mark's lever adapter.

Hey Mark - its been a LONG while - how about another update as to where the Adapters are at - its been a few months since you stated that you have a new supplier.
I finally received my adaptor. While the lack of information was extremely frustrating (I had been waiting since Dec 2007), the adaptor works as advertised. It appears to be a modified Fotodiox nikon to EOS adaptor that has been chipped. Whatever the case, it has enabled the first high quality wide angle zoom for EOS. If Nikon delivers a hi res DSLR with the quality of the D3 then I guess these issues go away.

You placed your order in Dec and you're just receiving the adapter now I thought Mark said he cleared backorder thru february - and that was back in June/July when he said that.
Any info, throw us a bone - at least least us know that you received the order, some form of confirmation would be really great.
I e-mailed Mark in mid-July and on Aug 10. No reply.
I only placed my order in May but at the time, Mark thought I had a good chance of getting an adapter by mid-July. I have no current information about when to expect the adapter or what the hold up might be. I do see Mark's posts occasionally on other threads, but nothing that helps clarify the delivery schedule for adapters.
I'm afraid I'm not allowed to discuss this here: many of my posts on the topic have been deleted. You're free to complain but I can't comment . . . nonetheless, I'll try again: very early orders have shipped; not all from February have. A batch of 100 is in the workshop now, and a locked-down lever-operated version is being developed.
