LordV your stuff is just sweet as can be man. thanks as always for sharing. There are a million ways to get this mag, but its the light man!! How do you achieve so much quality light on your images?
How the crap did you get shots like this! Anytime I have ever tried to shoot an insect I have been more frustrated by the constant movement and correspondingly shallow DOF with the 100mm Macro and seem to be lucky to get one shot that is even decently in focus...
Kevin, you just saved me from typing the same sentence.

Number 3 is my favourite but they are all up to your usual ridiculous standard!
Don't be too disheartened you guys, after years of trawling the internet I've come to the conclusion he's just about the best on the entire planet at this stuff! Brian is literally the god of sneaking up on bugs!
Thanks for looking and the kind comments everybody- much appreciated
Justin - think much of the light in these shots was bouncing around from the white flowers- certainly gave slight exposure headaches.
Rampai - I do take a lot of shots - I'm retired and have the time
I have 600Gb of drives in my PC and about 1 Tb of offline USB drives for backup.
Kevin Much of macro is just practice, I always use MF and focus by moving the camera- I very rarely try to hold focus but shoot as I pass through the focus I want. I also use focus stacking a lot to increase the DOF.
Phil - Got a garden full of hoverflies at the moment - they love the Hebes which have just come into bloom. I'm still waiting for the big Volucella sp. hoverflies to put in an appearance though.
