Expected daytime temps in June start out at with temp of 80 on the 1st and 87 on the 30th the sooner the better but any date if fine with me. Unless the planed time is like meet at like 4pm and shoot till close time I don't think waiting for summer hours is worth it. I know I'm not in for a 12 hour day at the Zoo.
I usually bring a 100-400 and sometimes want for more if you don't mind lugging it about a 500 is great a bit long at times but very useful. If you've seen Sunny's shot of the Cheetah taken with a 500 and you had one it's the only lens you would conceder.
I should be good for then, I'll have to double-check with my scheduler.
Last time I was there is was around 110. Still had fun, just had to make sure to keep hydrated & take it easy. Like I said, the free refills on the souvenir cup makes it worth the high start price quickly. During the hottest part of the day I hung around the back corner by the Bonsai Pavilion & Conifer Forest--lots of shade up there.
Possibility here - but I may be picking up some weekend employment which may cross many or all weekends off. Perhaps we should look for an "I'm going on ...... Anyone want to meet up?" type thread.
$90 for a single park tour you pick wich park asia or africa 1.75hrs or $150 for both parks 3.5hrs. I did the $150 last time when it was sprinkling and that is when they say the animals are most active. We fed rhinos and the giraffes. It was fun but had to keep the gear dry.
It's looking like I may be able to make it, not going to pop for any of the add-on caravans though. May be bringing other members of the family and we usually bring in a picnic for dinner, etc. Any thoughts on time or maybe just pick a time and a spot to meet up in the afternoon, letting people make arrangements as desired for caravans or the like?
I'm going to have to miss this time, twisted an ankle and have a late notice party for a nephew who graduated high school. Weather looks like it's going to be a bit better than it was earlier this month, too..
I gave up on it since there was not much interest in the weeks leading up to it. It looks like there was some interest near the end, but I didn't check the thread since it looks like everyone was dropping like flies earlier on.
