p.2 #2 · Bald Eagle Take Off

Ed Rotberg,

Wow Anthony! He really seems locked in on you. Great stuff here. I like them all, but #4 doesn't have any wings clipped and #1 could certainly be "fixed" so that the wing tips aren't "merged" along the left side.

I didn't crop anything out in PP > I only took what was left and cropped out sky or trees. I was at 700mm and when he took off it was hard to keep the Center Focus Point on the Eagle and keep all of him in frame > I wasn't expecting him to take off so I didn't get a chance to change my Focus Point. I'll have to hit you up for some tips on how to fix the wings

Thanks Ed

Karl Witt,

Powerful images, first two are excellent. I will give you credit on these, that eagle never once took his eye off of you man That makes these work so well. Mixed emotions on some of the crops but the eye contact connects very well. Well done PP on the tonal range of the feathers, lots of detail and plenty of depth in the contrast................. Good job buddy

Your right karl > he kept his eyes on me the whole time. One of the reasons I was saving these for a rainy day Thanks a lot for the comment Karl.

Tim,

Nice work Anthony! You sit around moping that you don't have any good stuff and it turns out you have these! Wonderful stuff! Did you bang your head?

Maybe if you could pry that tc off we could see the whole bird? Great job on the PP. Now if you can only learn how to save and file and not loose the exif you will be set. (ctl-shift-s, then choose file size)

Nice job mr kuhn

Thanks Tim > Well I was saving them for a rainy day But decided it was time
Hey that 1.4x is welded to my 500 > And old habits are sooooo hard to break !! I hate the fact that "Save for web" removes the exif data >> It's just a habit my friend !! I'll work on that just for you. Thanks again for the extra kind comment Mr Kuhn ...............
Mr ? What the heck

Anthony These are wonderful photos of a young bald eagle and I would say from the photos it is a male. Great poses and very sharp.

Thanks Frank glad you liked them >>> For the Mark III >>> I'd wait for the Next series of 1D bodies. The Mark IV ? But I think the Japanese think the Number 4 is unlucky >> So it should be a Mark V I'd guess............ WAIT

Anthony, you captured some of the most dynamic eagle images I've seen. The intensity, look, pose, etc - fantastic stuff. These are so good it almost hurts that some of the wings are clipped. Been there, done that - sometimes we don't have options. In any case, these are all fantastic.

Thanks very much for the compliment Lou. What makes you believe it's a Male ? I've always wondered how you can tell the difference.

Wow Maggie that's one heck of a compliment. I saved this series because I really liked how he was focused on me. I didn't do anything > But I really don't think he was happy I was photographing him for some reason. Sorry about the clipped wings > But it just so darn hard to track them that close with 700mm and keep everything in view !!

Thanks for the kind words and compliment maggie

Thanks ausmr !! I do it by luck Your to kind, and I appreciate your kind comment. I've been inspired by a lot of photographers on this forum. And to think that a few of my captures might inspire someone is a real nice thought.
