Tremendous shot, Carrol! Wow! Really powerful stuff! How'd you find't the photo to burn? You had to click the shutter at exactly the right instant - too little flame and the effect woube lost and too much burnt and you'd lose your subject. Well done.
All best wishes,
Endre

Very striking image, great color and energy. If this isn't a composite then you're one brave and lucky/skilled woman!!! Not easy to shoot a burning object, and so it so lovely!

Thanks very much Beverly! NOPE - it's not a composite. Probably leaning closer to the "luck" side. *grin*
Was glad to finally get a shot this week that I'm satisfied with.
It is my first burning object to photograph (other than a candle). But my daughter is the one who held the picture, so this made it much easier for me concentrate on getting the shot.
Right after I got my shot, I took it from her and dropped it on the driveway, where we dowsed it with water!
Thanks again!

Thanks Endre - I really do appreciate your kind words!
Yes, you're right about the timing... I was able to take just a few shots before it was too late. The first was not enough flame... the last was too much picture gone... and THIS middle one was just right. I was particularly pleased with the shape of this flame at the top!
