The only reason i bought the Mark III from onecall is b/c some FM'ers bought their Mark IIIs from onecall recently with serial 56xxxx and OW02xx datecode...
And yes, how can we trust them to test our returned Mark IIIs and let them to tell us, your Mark III is not ok, we will not charge you 15% restocking fee, if they are that good, they will do business the same way as B&H, Adorama etc.....
And yes, onecall will not get my a dime anymore..
Lide
PS: My user ID here is my real name, so anyone from onecall.com you will know it's me, not Donald Blue...
just curious-- if you anyone goes thru the bother of asking if they will get a late model mk3-- why not just ask them the specific SN they will fill the order with?
I'm disappointed with OneCall response to a couple of FM'ers. I will not purchase from them or advise anybody else to buy from them, until I hear that they are showing the respect that FM'ers deserve (yah, I do think we are a special lot).. YMMV

Ed,
Thanks for the respond.
I posted the post didn't want to make ONECALL look bad, just a warning to those waititng to buy the newest production Mark III with no blue-dot on the box...and let the buyers to know what you might get...
And i believe everyone knows why we want to get the latest Mark III production due to the AF issue history of this camera...
Thanks Lide for the heads up. I did call those jokers too. I think it was "Mark" who told me Canon ships them "sealed boxes" and they have no way to know the serial numbers.
Perhaps Glen_C is one those who answers our calls @ Onecall. What a shame

I have enough of a problem getting Canon to AF-calibrate my EF 50mm f/1.2L USM. The last thing I need to start worrying about is if my cameras are focusing right.
Me thinks that will never happen. That lens was designed not to focus properly (at least mine seemed that way). I know lots of people seem to like it and I wanted to LOVE it, but I just couldn't after I looked at the IQ....

Not all restocking fees are BS. There are plenty of good reasons for businesses to have them.
yes, agree..
I am ok with stores charging restocking fee policy.
The surprise is someone here bought the Mark III from them with 56xxxx serial and OW02xx datecode[manufactured on Feb. 2008] a week ago, but i got a Mark III manufactured last year with 55xxxx serial and OV1206 datecode for my order two days ago. and i don't know why this happened, and onecall said they get it directly from Canon, i don't believe that Canon will ship out the Feb. productions first, and ship out Dec. 2007 production later with two months dealy, can anyone give me any thought here ?

So this info may be irrelevant but while searching for info on serial/production #'s I found this thread again. I had purchased a MK III from Onecall when they had the special weekend price of $3863.00. I called CS on Monday and had the serial # production date discussion with the rep as I did not want a Blue Dot and she said the MK III's were from a January delivery. I received a Blue Dot 55869x which most likey had an OV12 code per the other posts I read. I held it for a few weeks while trying to decide what to do. Got an RMA and shipped it back for a full refund as I never opened the camera. I'm sure glad there was a camera in there. I wonder if the special price had any factor on my receiving the Blue Dot as opposed to a current production? Thanks C.J.
