Cool shots. I understand they can get quite aggressive with tourists

Really nice captures.

I saw a documentary about these guys a few years back, they have developed amaising behaviors.

I'll be on the look out for the other images.

Steve,

These are simply marvelous. Even the ones a bit out of focus I always love it when we get to see images of animals that are so rare for us. It's really terrific. The only downside is the expensive wanderlust that it instills

Can't wait to see more from your trip!

I never heard that and never saw any aggression at all. There were many people there at times, all getting very close. Not one sign of distress from any of the animals, ever. Maybe it happens if someone touches them but I did not see that happen either.

Thanks, Suprada. In addition to these I've got more pictures from India too. Stay tuned!

Hi Anthony:

You are welcome to come along. Mid-Feb. is the time to go. I've thought of getting a group together to go there next year.

The monkeys are used to humans and you can get right next to them. A couple of times I was so close I actually had to back away so I could get my camera focused. I'm guessing that this is because no humans have harmed or harassed them for many years now. The Japanese govt. takes good care of them, it appears.

There were quite a few people there when I was visiting and I didn't see anyone do anything stupid. One man held out his finger to a baby and the baby reached out and wrapped his fingers around it. Wish I had photographed that, it was quite touching (no pun intended).

Steve, this truly had to be a trip of a lifetime. And what marvelous treasures you brought back with you. As has already been mentioned, this is wildlife that most of us will never get to experience first hand. I appreciate you letting us experience these amazing monkeys, vicariously through your lens.

I really do hope you post more of these, whether they be in or out of focus. You are right, the cuteness factor is off the scale. These little guys are adorable. These shots just make me fantasize about taking a very expensive trip to Japan. You are a lucky man!

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what treats you have in store for us from your trip to India.

Well done.

Dave I.
