By all of your replies I am seriously trying to understand the point of posting this image in the first place Especially the $$$$ statements.
Peace,
Cordell
Simply to share.....i though it was an interesting image....for me it works....for the bride it works.....i respect others opinions........but if it sells for me, then its a successful image...........regardless if others don't like it...........the $$$$$ is what operating a business is all about..........thats the bottom line........if some are not business owners, then they wouldn't understand............
Hmmm, when you post an image you will undoubtedly get CC.
As mentioned earlier, brides tend to like just about anything (no reflection on your photo). They tend to like anything for the simple fact that they do not see the number of great images we see everyday. This is also a good reason that so many brides end up with crappy images where a better images could have been provided.
It's like anything, you don't know how bad it is until you bump it up with something that is better; I believe that is what the comments above are based on; better bride images.
I saw when you first posted the image but I did not comment. I simply didn't care for it so I moved on. But I will now. I don't care for it either because it looks like someone walking around with something on their head and I didn't know if they were coming or going.
It's great that your bride like it but what about the next potential bride who doesn't and simply moves on just as I did? The masses count regardless if you make a few $$$$ from one.

Whats that old saying......." you can please some of the people all of the time, and you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time"................im not trying to please every single bride........thats ridiculous......and not really trying to please members.........how many brides pass on my other work that people say is outstanding..............it's all an individuals preference....
Thats like trying to plug a leak in a dam with your finger..........we produce and move on.........I don't spend time worrying whether one single image is going to be the one that ends the earth.................as photographers, we tend to be way more critical of others work simply because we can, and on an open forum its so easy to do..........
But the reality is that business is business...........comments are just that.....comments..........and just like !@# $%*#, everyone has one......and on an open forum open and free comments help all of us to become better photographers............
It really is to yellow and you can't tell if she is coming or going. As much as you talk about not worrying whether one image is going to be the one, comments are comments and how they are appreciated and desired your responses reflect none of this.

May i see your website so that i can view your work ? See what you are producing ?
Someone posts a photo; some others like it, some don't; the original poster gets defensive or abrasive; others start to pick on the original poster and the thread is wasted.
I agree that it is easy to totally speak your mind in the anonymity of a forum like this whether you are the original poster or someone offering a critique. But too few of us remember that the person posted the image because they liked it or it meant something to them. And too often the original poster becomes defensive and caustic when their image is disliked.
Critique can be offered in a courteous and constructive manner (and it usually starts off that way here) and should be accepted similarly. We all know that if we post an image, it will be viewed critically. We should be ready to accept any criticism, good or bad, with humility and understanding.
It is dissapointing to go from a thread where people are sharing phone numbers to get together at WPPI to this one where it has degenerated into little more than a playground spat.
I know that someone visiting this thread will likely take issue with this reply and that is their right. As for me, I will not visit this thread again.
Couldn't agree with you Kevin. The posters, not just Hassy post images on the website, and then when they don't get what they are looking for they either get defensive or just make attempts at being witty.
Hassy: Why post images here if you are just going to disagree or not be open to what people say? CONGRATS! that you make good money doing what you do, and that your bride is happy. Not too sure how many photographers out there actually get complaints about the work they turn over to the client. Just a side comment: Why do you start a thread every other day with just one image?
