A lot of earlier posts on the subject are asking for a FF sensor. Why?
Thats ridiculous, surely the noise levels are one of the few gains you will get from FF along with proper wide angles but other than that for all you sports shooters or wildlife shooters or news reporters, a FF sensor would surely jst slow the camera down and make it more expensive. As well I think 1.3x is the perfect crop factor, good for wides but better for teles, after all all of you with a mkIII and 600/4 wouldn't want that 600/4 to be an actual 600/4 would you, you'd rather keep that 780/4 that you are used to....Show more →
I shoot sports (among other things) and I want my 600 back the way it used to be thanks very much - and my ultra-wides back too.
The 1.3 approx crop is the worst of compromises IMO - even the entry-level cameras get a true ultra-wide courtesy of EF-S.
Before general releasing, Canon should loan the camera to Rob Galbraith and other photographers. When they tell Canon that something doesn't work, Canon should listen to them and fix the problems before general releasing.
I saw newspaper photographers using D3's months before it was released. Nikon seemed to be very interested in feedback.

I'd have to agree with this (in wanting full frame).
One other benefit from full frame. The viewfinder on the Nikon D3 is dramatically easier to manual focus with compared to the 1D3. Something about both the size and the focus screen that they are using that just makes things pop in and out of focus.
I don't own an 1D3 yet. Was just thinking about selling my 2N to upgrade to the 3 before the Spring baseball season and am not sure after these "1D3 is bad" threads....
I agree with the improvements for the next gen already mentioned (some I had not thought of) but tops on my list would be (in no particular order):
- Internal wireless for transmitting and for pocketwizards (which I don't think will ever happen) or even a built in STE thingy
- smaller, lighter form factor
- A bigger * button on the back. So many of us use that to focus with rather than the main shutter release, it's hard on my big fat thumb to find and keep pressing the small * button, specially with a glove on.

It's called QA or QC. Something all companies should have….
