Had my eye on it for a while and now that I upgraded to a 30D body I want to buy one but -- is the B&H price of $959 a good deal for the 24-105L? Should I wait for rebates etc., or shop elsewhere? Any advice is appreciated as I really haven't done a lot of research on prices for this even though I am very familiar with the lens.
Funny when I input the code for the 580EXII I get a higher price then if I dont use it and get the rebate. It doesnt show the rebate available on the price when using the code. Anyone know why this would be?

B&H isn't honoring the code with the rebate this time around.
It may not be a matter of B&H not honouring the coupons, but rather a question of where the funds come from to support the coupon discount and whether that means they are mutually exclusive from the rebates.
The instant rebates are a program that Canon runs with their retailers to lower the cost of the rebate-eligible products sold during the rebate period that enables a lower selling price to be passed along to the purchaser.
It's very possible that the coupon discounts are simply a hidden rebate between Canon and B&H whereby Canon funds the coupons to B&H so that B&H doesn't have to fund the coupon value out of their margins. In that case, there's no way that the coupon pricing and rebate offering could be aggregated.
Also, remember that the B&H coupons are applicable against "Our regular low price" for the items.
