I was at the State Park putting on a wildlife Photography Workshop for the OspreyFest festival. We had some very special guest attend the festival this year from the Santa Fe Raptor Center. The guests were kind enough to pose for some photos. These are injured or abandoned birds that are now used for education programs. They were used in 76 programs this year reaching 3200 children and 7100 adults.
It is organizations like this that help out our wild friends in need and so I decided that even if they are not Wild Free Ranging a little publicity about them would be a good thing.
I just received a nice E-mail for the folks at the Santa Fe Raptor Center thanking me for the photos I took and for posting them so the rest of the world will know that there are people trying to help out our wildlife friends that are in trouble. As a bonus they invited me down to meet all their other birds.
Really well-done portraits, Roger, excellent exposure, highlight control and detail. My fave is the #4 Red-tail with the alert, defiant pose. Wildlife rehab centers are worthy of any donations and publicity we can give them, IMHO.
