I always thought those honey dipper things were odd, but this certainly makes a more intriguing design than it would with an ordinary spoon. The background is interesting. Looks more like an actor's dressing room than a kitchen, though I do see what look like pots hanging below the shelf.

Nice work Jim!

Jess, Christian, Robert, and Jane....Thanks! The honey twirler/dipper was actually hard to come by. Apparently squeeze bottles are the new rage, and old tech wood kitchen bits are not very popular. I bought two...fearing they would disappear altogether from the stores.

Jess, the background is a stainless steel gas range, with a tea kettle on top. I also shot white background, and tighter shots...plus I'm working on an additional idea.

Beautiful shot, Jim.

That honey sure looks good. I really like the golden orange colours, and the lighting - did you use your alien bees...?

I'd appreciate some opinion on these alternate versions. Call the first one #1

Nicely done Jim - as always. If I were to choose, it would be #1 as I like the sense of place provided by the out of focus, but recognizable background and the hand. #3 is disturbing to my senses.

Nicely shot Jim. I like both 1 and 2, I think I prefer #1. The colors and BG are well done.

Just the right amount of honey to make it extra sweet!
I also prefer #1, it’s an excellent capture with a great background and perfect composition with very good balanced lighting. I like the reflection of the honey on the counter top...

Lovely shot, Jim, my friend! The color of the honey is just great. I do find the two bright vertical lines of reflection in the background a bit distracting, though. Maybe there's some wah to tone them down a bit Either way, it's a really tasty shot!

Fond regards,

Endre

very nice. I actually like the background in this one. Keeps the culinary feel to it. The shot itself is very well done and really crisp. Puts a new meaning to that little "doo-hicky" of the honey tool thing! lol.

That sure does look tasty. The bees seem to be stirring in these parts and that's with just a glimpse of this shot. You might want to close your windows lest they decide they want it back...

Great shot, I really like the short DOF with the blurred kitchen range and teapot in the background. Your lighting makes the dripping honey glow. Nice work.

Jim, I'm late in posting, but couldn't let this week go by without telling you how much I love this image. I love honey, (actually own one of those wooden dippers,) and your composition, with the range and kettle in the background, is excellent. Great color, and perfect lighting.....as always. Another winner for sure! Now I'm going to toast an English muffin for myself, add a bit of butter, and a generous glop of honey, and see if it's as delicious as it looks.

A+, my friend!
