Well they charged my credit card and gave me a order confirmation for (2) Canon 580ex II flashes, and (2) 17-40L series zooms. The total came to $1309.66, and I beleive theres a $50.00 rebate on each of the lenses too. I probably should have ordered more, but I only needed two new flashes.
Yeah, it looks like they took down that combo and it no longer exists. I just checked in with Newegg and sure enough, both the lenses and flashes have shipped!
My original e-mail confirmation from Wednesday night shows the lense and the flash. My current order status on their website also shows both the lense and the flash. They have already charged me, and since I am in San Diego, it looks like it will ship from the newegg Los Angeles location according to their map.
There were five lenses listed. 17-55,17-40,24-70, 16-35, and 70-200. If you bought any of these lenses with the 580ex II under the "combo" deal you received a $499.00 discount, essentially receiving the flash free. I purchased two 17-40 zooms and two 580exII flashes and the total was $1309.11 with shipping. I received my order yesturday.

Wow, I feel like crying right now. How did I miss that? I already have the 17-40 but am looking to purchase the 24-70. Not sure what the price for combo was, but with $499 off, it can't be beat!! I wonder if the person placing the combo add on newegg made a typo?
My birthday is a little over a week away and I thought to myself...
I will treat myself to a 17-40 and one of the new 580ex's when that day comes now I see that I missed my chance of getting a 580ex on the house... lol.
Honestly, I still think somebody at newegg made a mistake. I saw my local shops wholesale cost sheet on lenses when I purchased my 24-70mm L two weeks ago - $1020. My guess is that the flash costs them about $330 or so.
How much was it? Full retail? i was looking to get that lens too! Darn missed out!
