Paula, if you don't have internet, then spyware obviously wouldn't be able to send anything to Adobe. You can still use PS CS without internet. Although I would suggest that you install the wireless router in your room with the cable modem, and wireless adapter in your new computer, if you can't run wires (which would be better). That way you will have internet on a both computers.
I just purchased CS and installed it last week. I have Zone Alarm Pro, and to my knowledge the only time CS contacted Adobe was during activation/registration. I have had no other "alarms" to show up, and have used CS most every day for about a week now. I'm on a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop with XP.

Joe is correct, no phone home's or spyware, only initial activation. CS has been on both desktop (XP Pro) and laptop (2K Pro) for three weeks now, both firewall and internet router logs report absolutely no internet activity from CS. Have used CS on laptop unpluged from the internet many times and CS does not ever check or look for internet connection, and works fine. Bottom line, there is no spyware with my copy of CS.
