Beautiful shot Christian, great colors, and don't ya love surprises*?
Beautiful capture.
* The halo would have been a surprise if I were doing the shooting...maybe it was intentional for you.
Thanks Tom. Took out the mail from the mailbox, looked up and there it was, moon and halo. My wife said this was the first time she had seen it. I took the tripod and camera out in the back yard and shot a few angles and exposures, this was the clearest I managed. I seem to get totally wrong exposures at night. All looks so bright and nice on the screen when it's dark. But, what a surprise when I get indoors on the 'puter.

The halo is very nicely framed by the trees, I like it!
Thank Jouko, I stood the chance of losing out on the opportunity (don't know how long these things last) and making the best out of what I had. I decided to bring the tree into the halo rather than one or two trees just half way in, looked a little more interesting to me than just an gap and the moon. So, this was it. I did crop it some.

I hate it when I'm so late getting to view a shot, that everyone else has already used all the superlatives!
Christian, it's stunning. And that shade of green is my favorite.
Beautiful shot.
Thanks Philly I have the same problem sometimes and decide not to read the others comments before I write mine. But everyone else always write theirs better than me so it's hard to not look
I'm glad you like it. I hope this week Fred thinks I am more in line with the subject matter.
Another thumbs up from me...like the toning, and the strict interpretation of the topic. But, where is the pooh character looking at the moon? (loved that shoot too)

Thanks Jim,
The photo is more in line with the subject this week.....I hope. And, funny you should mention Pooh/Piglet. Same pine, different angle less one Piglet, got to scared I guess I did ponder putting Piglet in this shot in pp but left it at that. Thanks for checking it out.
