Man I wish I lived where ever you are! I shoot a huge amount of girls for Hooters in the ATL area each year but by the time submission time rolls around (now) it is far to cold to even think of going outside like that I try to get the girls to start shooting by october but in typical 20 year old fashion it is always better to push it off and wait till later. Last minute then rolls around and they get so pissy cause we can't go outdoors, and it's so cold and they aren't tan anymore, etc etc etc...
Your TFP = No $ for me...charge them or photograph friends, but stop doing it for free, some of us are trying to make a living. At least tell them $50 for what you're doing for the TFP's...they'll pay. I charge $150 because they make plenty of money and for spending as much time on the pictures as I do, I should too (and that price is too cheap)...don't let them fool you, they'll pay.
You aren't just a GWC, you have decent pictures...so don't TFP like a GWC Best of luck.
4-6 are the ones that show her best attributes. To me people photography is all about minimizing the bad attributes that everyone has and maximizing the good attributes. She has a better figure than smile.

I feel ya Jake!! There are SO many people running around with Rebels taking pictures of the Hooters girls that as a whole they are starting to get to the point where they don't really see the difference between good and bad photos if there is a difference of free or pay. I was getting paid $10 a sheet to take the girls headshots for the walls right when you walk in the door. $10 a head seems kinda low but since I already go in daily and I got food free as well it worked out nice. A guy now comes in with his Nikon D200 and flash and shoots them and provides them the 8"x10" prints for free, even gives the girls free photo pens and other goodies. Yet another store that settles for 1/2 ass work because it's free.

Hmm perhaps sign of the times? all things change in life, look at newspapers and magazines scrambling to regain the marketing share with advertisers and subscribers due to the internet and simple kids blogs who have millions of hits a day getting advertisers to pay for them and... everything evolves and so should you.. you cant expect to just walk into a hooters and run things because perhaps your images might be a tad better for the rest of your life.... its a business.. if girls and companies can get work done for less or free and its half quality... then they will have to out weigh the quality verses the cost like anything in life. Just my two cents
Then based on your two cents you're obviously not a professional photographer trying to make money in this market. Your point is valid but this changing times you reference is going to make a professional photographer almost a thing of the past within the next couple years in most every market except professional print work. I am not stating you're wrong, anyone who doesn't see it is fooling themselves but when you get outbid for a job by some newbie willing to do it for free you will feel it just like the rest of us.

Hmm to be a professional photographer... you get paid to shoot correct? well I get paid to shoot So I must be professional... now the level of professionalism that is in question But I do understand your frustrations.. I mean its happening to everyone around you not just in the world of photography... technology is making peoples jobs obsolete everyday.. look at the automated check out lines in walmarts and other stores.. boy are they fast and man they are great because I dont have to deal with anyone I just check my own items, place them in the bag gently pay with my debit card and BAM im on my way.... but that is someones job that is taken away due to technology....
Perhaps the person shooting hooters for free has a plan to make money [ or some poor sap who is just trying to get laid, but hey who said money is the only thing of value to some people ] ...... perhaps they are using photography as a means to push another product or service to that customer.. like selling the girl a website, or business cards.. but the photography is free..... just because money isn't exchanged up front doesn't mean everything you do is not an investment or a way to make money.. sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward.. find a new nitch that isnt already being whored out by every knuckle head that has a rebel.. oh wait i have a rebel, scratch that :P and then make the serious cash that way.....
AND a professional photographer will never be a thing of the past... everything has a balance.. these free photographers will only be able to do it for so long.. they will lose interest... they wont step up their game to produce quality images... so I wouldnt worry too much just be sure you have other streams of income or other clients than hooters and you should be fine.... the way to make money is multiple streams of income.. dont put all your eggs in one basket.... even though the hooters basket does look nice
