So for those curious ones out there, this is how it was shot and processed:

shutter speed: 1/125
aperture: 6.3
ISO: 400
Focal Length: 105mm (Micro Nikkor)

One adjustment layer for Hue/Saturation, one for Levels, one for Curves, Duplicated the background layer then did a Gaussian Blur of about 20% on duplicated layer, then adjusted the opacity to about 30% and changed the Blending mode to Soft Light.
I might have missed a little something here or there but that is about the jist of it! Hope that helps.

Cool, I thought it was an Orton Effect...good job. If anyone is interested in this effect here's a link to "Nature Photographer" who have a great how to;
