Darn, I didn't realize both Adorama and B&H were in NY. I have bought from Adorama and was very pleased. I guess this newb has to recant his generalization about NY merchants.
Glad you came here for advice, CW. I think you may save yourself alot of turmoil by staying away from 47thSt.Photo.
I just find it weird that a photojournalist I know is the one who recommended 47thSt.Photo in the first place and now many experienced photogs are pointing me away.
Caleb, your friend was one of those that is happy with 47st, but a sample size of 1 is not significant. When you look at a large sample size you get a more realistic picture of what you can expect - and the fact that a lot of people are unhappy with them is not a good sign.
