Like it? I love it. Great perspective while not becoming abstract. If you don't mind my asking, was this the actual shot or did you colorize it? Great contribution to the WA!

Hi Matt,

Wasn't too sure myself about this one, thought it would be a bit too 'easy', I don't know. So thanks for the comments, makes me feel good about it in the end.

I indeed did a conversion to B&W and then applied a slight orange filter to the steel structure. In the end it isn't all too different from the original colorwise. Had to fiddle a bit to bring out the clouds though, they were heavily overexposed.

It's better on a sunny day, but with the weekly assignments you'll have to take it as it is I guess. Part of the fun.

This is great - makes me feel almost as if I have a chance to actually explore something that I've only seen in pictures.
I wonder if it might benefit from a little more contrast, localized to the steel, not the sky?
The viewpoint, and careful attention to composition from corner to corner, pay off in a very powerful image.

Jess, I tried that but the shadows in the structure were accented too much. Didn't like that. I could have deselected the shadows but am lacking the time. Thanks for the suggestion though: I really like to hear your vision.

Thanks Ed. Jess wrote more or less the same. It would be a waste of what they built around here not to use it for the assignments! Yes, it's a beautiful city, but then again, I'll tell you, you guys and gals have me drooling over pictures of the USA all the time.
