I look forward to that day, we'd be a potent team! Keep me posted on unclassified developments. Until then, stay safe and keep up the good work. There's a whole bunch of us over here that respect and appreciate your service, don't doubt it for a minute!
Never thought I would have a contribution for this thread, but some nostalgia has crept in.
Some FAC birds from Vietnam, 69, sorry only static shots.
I was assigned to their squadron as a radio operator, 21st TASS.
The guys who flew these spotter aircraft were something else.
Flying low & slow, looking for enemy, targets, they were easy prey.
Glad you have enjoyed our thread! I'm compiling names of folks that have said they'd like to attend, when I get 20 to 25 in a geographic area I'll put a gathering together. Everyone, please keep those cards and letters coming in, we'll do this sooner or later. The way 2007 has been so far, I'm kind of glad I didn't put together a rigorous seminar schedule, my first assignment was at dawn on New Year's Day and other than a Sunday or two, I've been shooting solid ever since. Nice problem to have though!
This is scary, right now I am watching "Blue Angels: Year in the life" on Military channel, and open up the thread to see this Great shot again! JWilsonphoto wrote:

There's going to be lots of this at GML 2007, sure hope to see many of you there. My Buddies/formation crew and I are going to come up in style in a beautiful King Air. While there, I just found out, "Gunny" Perdue will be flying a newly restored P-38 during the event. Look for some fledgling photographer hitching a ride on and off in the jump seat.

Can't let this thread slip to page two!! Right now I plan on being at the GML Fri-Sun. It is going to be one busy September. Morris, IL airshow Labor Day weekend, followed by eight or nine days at the Reno Air Races, come home for three days, then drive to Ohio for the GML. I may need a new external HD for all the RAW files!!!
Jim-
I'd love to get to GML. We'll see how it all works out. Where can I find more info on that newly restored P-38 you were talking about? My grandfather flew F-5's in New Guinea and they are my favorite WWII a/c.
Look forward to seeing you down in SE FL sometime soon?
I have ben looking at this site for at least 8 months. Why is this post continually posted as a new thread.they are the same pictures we have seen time after time. enough already.

Don't let the door hit you....
I sure hope we get to spend some time together at GML. Morris is where I began my flight training. They didn't have an FAA guy there so I flew to Sugar Grove/Aurora for my flight check. Bill Morrison was my instructor, someone told me he runs the Pontiac airport now. I really need to drop in and buy him lunch sometime.
On the subject of storage, I just ordered a half dozen Transcend 8GB cards from mydigitaldiscount.com, they're $99.00! That brings my card library up to 140GB. Don't you miss the days of 36 exposure rolls?!!
I first saw this thread last night around 9:00pm. Now, it's 4:00am and a solid seven hours later when I finally reach the last page. My bottom hurts from sitting so long, and my eyes are exhausted. But my heart and soul are filled with song and inspiration: to fly, to photograph, to live, and to do everything better each day. I'm also reminded never to take myself too seriously at anything: either there is someone nearby from whom I can learn, or whom I can teach, or both.
Technical skill, abilities, and equipment are all prerequisites for getting the kind of photography you've shared with us, Jim. But none of that is worth a dirty penny without soul, and feeling, and meaning to it. Which explains the reason why you get so many of "The Shots"... the combination of masterful skill and humility for the art itself and the creation which surrounds it.
Thank you. For the photos, for the knowledge, for the inspiration, and for the lesson in humility and servant leadership. You have my deepest respect, good sir. And like many here, I shall seek out the opportunity to shake your hand and say so again.
