Sean,
Thank you for your excellent reviews.
I am tempted by the 25/4 Snapshot-Skopar. Do you have any experience with it?
Cheers
Peter

Now Dave, notice that I was careful not to say "he" or "she". I'm perfectly willing to accept the possibility that it's the woman who is buying the camera and the man who is buying the shoes.
Before selling of all, or most of your gear to finance the M8 + lenses - shouldn't we try it out, or, at least, read some RELIABLE reviews?
DSLRs and RF's are different animals and this will be a real test to see a true DRF (new term) in action against the standard DSLR workflow. The Epson DRF had more complaints about construction, and design than real comparison with DSLR workflow.
Anyway I am interested in the M8 but will do a little watchful waiting before making the JUMP.
The only worry i have is if I like RF shooting. Honestly i have been to the camera store 3 times and played about a hour each with it just to get more feel. I believe it will work well with my style but I also have a full DSLR system to back it up.
That is perceptive, Guy, as it really is a different style. At a guess I would say it will suit you when I look at your "people at their job" photographs, which are pretty impressive btw.
go here to see what sean though of the wides on the RD-1. from what i could tell, vignetting was the main issue compared to Leica glass, and that was with the epson 1.5 crop. with the M8 and its even larger image frame and the micro-lenses...they must really do the job.

It's actually logarithmic. The general rule in high end audio is that you have to double the price to get an easily-perceptable improvement.
Sean,
thanks for the review!
Images look very good to me... up to 320 ISO
Frienkly I didnt expect a wonder but I also hoped that the difference in high ISO files compared to the 5d wouldnt be that big.
Not a problem for me since I dont need ISO 2500 much.
Again, thanks for the review and I cant wait to get a M8 in my hands
I just read the review. Thanks for all the great information. I read the review aloud to my wife and she says that you are an excellent writer in bringing the experience of the camera to life. I look forward to the next installments.
