Great job Bob........that's a difficult subject to photograph and you.ve done it superbly.
I really like the light change from top to bottom, and the tone works well for this WA
Nice job

Wow!!
At first glance, I thought this might be a long exposure of spinning golf ball! Very interesting image... Love the Police line too.
Thanks! This is the first time I've really experimented with an astral image like this. I got the idea from some of the full moon shots I saw on the forums here recently. I thought, you don't see too many shots of the sun in full frame.
I always thought The Police captured a minimalist sound in their music, so the title was a good match.

Thanks Peter. I had so many ideas for this assignment. I actually didn't think this would work as well as it did. It was almost too simple, but I guess that's the idea!
Awesome shot. I'm glad you explained how you did this because I was really wondering Nice job with the B/W conversion using a blue filter. I'll have to give this a whirl sometime, it's very cool. Thanks for the lesson and sharing an awesome shot! This one should go to the finals!

Thanks for the kind words Wilson. The photo was taken with the 50-500 and a 2xTC to give 1000mm of reach (settings: f13, 1/250) I really like working with this setup, and I'm trying various sun and moon captures along with anything else I can shoot at smaller apertures. It is interesting how you can actually see the heat coming off the edges of the sun.
Great shot and wonderful take on this weeks assignment. I hope your eyes are ok after exposure to the friendly sum.
The best of luck with a well taken shot!
Tom
