Unfortunately there are far too many of these human night crawlers creeping round while most everyone else is asleep. Fortunately it is an underworld that we are unfamiliar with.
C&C welcomed as always.

Great lighting. Where do you find your sets? I live in a remote area, away from any buildings like the one in your pic. Did you put in the red light or was that the way it was? Anyway, enough with the questions. Good job and good luck!

Thanks, Ian! Well, for this set, Robert and I were in Atlanta eating downstaris at a restaurant called Highland Tap. We sat downstairs, and when I looked out I saw the brick wall with a light mounted on the side of the wall. When we walked out, I realized that it was a staircase going to the upstairs portion of the establishment. Serendipidously, a guy in a white suit walked up the stairs right as I was shooting He was bald headed, and couldn't have been dressed any better if I had asked him to dress as a big city pimp. Lucky!!! The light was as it was in the stairwell. Lucky again.

What a great shot! The colour and composition are wonderful. It makes me think of a kind of Hitchcock movie poster - I can imagine that 50's style lettering on it, advertising some thriller... love it.

Thanks! I didn't think 50's, but you are absolutely right. Maybe I should have called it "Alfred Returns". Glad you like it

Well, Jane it looks like you've got another winner here. Darn...I haven't even had time to start thinking about what I might shoot and you've already posted the winner. Hmmm...You seem to have an affinity for these kind of creepy shots of shady men lurking in the shadows :worried: Anyway, it seems you and Robert are on a roll. Great shot. Bravo!
Great shot Jane,
The color and sharpness are wonderful as you captured the creepy man going after his next next capture. I trust you used a very fast lens and a tripod?
Best of luck this week.

Hi Tom. I did have a tripod. And I experimented with several speeds and apertures. For this one it was F4, ISO 400 and focal length of 55mm. Glad you liked it.

All the best,

Strad! Thanks--but every time you mention the word "winner" in your comments on my photos, I wind up waaaaay out of the running I think it is a jinx. But I have to admit, that it still sounds good to hear it. Speaking of being on a roll--you are too my friend. And don't think that creepy, shady characters have anything to do with Robert. He is a sweetheart.
Wonderful lighting. I'm loving the effect the subtle noise has on the image. Has a very rusty, grungy feeling to it. Suits the ghosting on the man ascending up the stairs - he could almost be some supernatural being. This could be the stuff of nightmares. I love it.
On a side note, this reminds me very much so of the environments one would see in the game/movie called Silent Hill. Look it up and you'll see what I mean - if you're interested .

Thanks for the comment, Kirk! I am glad you noticed the grain that I added. Although I didn't add much, your repsonse was the one I was looking for. I was afraid that it had been an exercise in futulity. Welcome to the WA family! Nice to see you so active. I did look up the Silent Hill game and the images are reminiscent of this one.

Damn.... you've done it again. In the weeks that I've been here you've raised your game every week and truly deserve the praise.
So by my calculations, taking into account the effect of the migrating eels, the popularity of Marmite and the temperature of Mrs. Flibble's chillies, I'd happily predict this is the winner.

Yup.
Thanks!! What a wonderful wonderful compliment--not withstanding your latest "getup"--I mean, ordinarily I would discount these sorts of praises coming from a 200 pound gorilla. But, I will discount your attire, and hang my hat on your photography!!! You are a sweetheart--and I hope Mrs. Flibble isn't the jealous type
Jane
Good shot. You have developed quite the eye for catching on to interesting locations. The shadows and the lighting with the attire of the guy set tup the scene just right. Nicely done
