Since you're asking for 'super-wide' shots, all of these are at 12mm. I've taken plenty at the longer lengths that are quite good as well. All are from the Tokina 12-24:
For this particular shot, I put it on continuous (5 fps) and let 'er rip. I then opened up the first shot in the sequence as the background in PS. Then, I added the next shot but cut out the overlap to reveal the subject in the background. And so on... I actually didn't use a tripod, but if I did, it would make my PS job a lot easier.
