If a pro wants tough and fast they wouldn't even look at a 30D either.
actually, the 30D may not be the toughest, but it is fast, easy to use (manually), and takes gr8 images.. therefore, it is a wonderful back-up.
A pro looking for a second body, and who can't afford or doesn't need another 1-series, will look at -- & not overlook -- the 30D. my 2 cents worth
