Looks like a scene from a movie where someone is hallucinating or dreaming. The angle of the shot really adds to the disorientation. Very interesting photo.
The farther away books are less blurred than the near ones. I can't decide if that means that it was zoomed or you moved. Either way, an exciting picture.
THe little bit of an angle gives it an edge, the lenght of the aisle gives it depth, and the institution cieling gives with the converging lines is great.
Not quite sure I could give any criticism. The angle is inspired and the effect makes me want to visit a library, just so that I can run down an aisle in a pathetic attempt to experience your picture for real life.
Hold on a sec, lemme just give that a try. back in an hour or two.
*Sound of door slamming*
*Sound of car starting*
*Sound of car driving off to a library*
*Sound of silence (for about a couple of hours)*
*Sound of car coming back from library*
*Sound of door opening*
Hmm. Real life experience wasn't quite as good as the photo. You win some, you lose some.
Compelling shot. The colors, lines and perspective combine in a very dynamic way. Not sure if this was done in camera with zoom or in Photoshop with Radial Blur - but of course it doesn't matter. The outcome is what counts, and it's fantastic! Good luck.
In response to the questions of technique: it is, as some have guessed, a radial blur in Photoshop. I tried to achieve the effect in-camera and after about 20 shots, I gave up. I came really close to what I've submitted on a few shots, but without a dolly I couldn't keep my vanishing point sharp enough. I simply walked down the aisle and most of my attempts were around 1/4 @ f/5.6-8. IS on a 10-22mm would ordinarily be pointless, but I could have really used it for this shot.
Ultimately, I decided it was not going to happen without a little post-processing help. So I relented and handheld this final shot: 1/25 @ f/5.6, ISO 800.

Thanks for explaining the technique. I was really puzzled after looking at the exif on how you pulled that off, but I hadn't considered the use of radial blur. Very well done indeed!
