Just about every third corner here in Hanoi boasts a "low frills" gas station --- pump and bucket for finding and repairing tire leaks, a couple of liters of petrol, and a handfull of hand tools to fix some of the more common motorbike failures. Because I ride a 15-year-old two-stroke bike and breakdowns are fairly common, I've found these "gas stations" indespensible.
