Without any other elements you mentioned for scale, the shot almost looks like it could be the inside of a Quonset hut. A little disconcerting, perhaps, but I think it adds to the appeal.

Very creative! Only minor C&C I had (since you asked) was that it appears to be shifted clockwise a couple degrees so the horizon isn't perfectlly level. Could just be my eyes though.

Thanks! I wondered if anyone would mention that. The horizon is actually level, but the front of the mailbox is distorted, so it looks at though the opening is rotated slightly. It bugs me, but I didn't have the time to attempt any geometric correction in Photoshop.
