Suse, thank you so much for your comments. I share your reservations about the "tip of the tap." On one hand it is not particularly attractive, but on the other hand leaving it there does help to clarify what is going on in the photo. It is so difficult to have someone look at a photo and say something to the effect of "And what exactly am I looking at, here??" So far I lean slightly toward the "other hand" of the argument ... authenticity winning out over art, I suppose.
