I work for an Interactive software development/design shop. I'm not a front end guy (I'm a Software Architect), but I work with a lost of our front end guys.
Most of the sites in this thread would make them slit their wrists. Most of you are breaking the most very basic web design and usability rules. I don't want to come off harsh... Just callin' it like I see it.
It's funny that the people who come out and say "my site is the best because..." have the worst of them all!
In any case, I don't have a site yet for that very reason (i'm buggin one of the designers at work to do it for me ).
That being said I really like http://www.4-optic.com/ (it was posted earlier). It's simple, elegant, and has everything you need on it.
Yes it's flash.. some like it , some don't... If it's simple and not overdone it's great. Background music is a no-no .... I repeat a no-no. However, in this case I feel it adds to the feeling of the pictures... Done wrong, however it's cheesy and annoying.

GAH! That scared the hell out of me. Im sorry to say this, but the blasting MIDI style music on your opening page turned me off. Immediately. I would imagine im not the only one that will be turned away because of this shock. I am not trying to be rude, just trying to be honest and helpful, but you may want to seriously consider nixing the sound file. Just a suggestion...
If anyone has a chance could they check out my site and give me some feedback? Its got some graphics work (nothing great) and some videos and photos on it.
Anyway feedback would be nice :-D
Thanks guys/girls!

Yea i'd like to learn how to do sites just on coding, but it was a first go on webdesign for school so i had to stick to some guidelines....mostly creating your own graphics and slicing them, etc etc.

In my eyes this is one of the best websites ive seen so far, especially for just using slices. Why? First and foremost i like that its simple and uses a very basic color scheme. I also like the simple but styled text and font usage, as well as the subtle rollover effects. And NO MUSIC! (...Remember this is all considering my personal affinity for a minimalist approach to web design!)
Anyways nice work man, off to a good start. I think this really works considering the type of photography that youre showcasing: Its got the start of a solid professional feel, but also stylized well for the "intended target" so to speak. Although i would definitely add some sort of navigation buttons to the enlarged image view. Just something to consider for future updates.

And many photography forums contain photos that many 'professionals' would 'slit their wrists' over and/or think are rubbish... what's your point?
Do you think that any one individual should perhaps not share their work or just simply not bother (whether it be photography, web design, graphic design, etc) until they can reach a professional/commercial level or become an 'expert' in their chosen hobby or interest?? Seriously...
I like to keep everyone awake so I have loud music .
It's a choice I know but without the music I just don't like it.
Check the rest of the site it's silent .
That's my blog, i'm still quite happy with it.
(Being a Virgo (makes me a perfectionist) I usually end up keeping sites for a few months then they begin to annoy me, so I change them. However this has lasted me a while

I found that image from google images without the copyright. I will be sure to credit the image on my site. Is it ok to use that image even with the copyright on the image?
No. You still don't get it. Whether or not the copyright notice is on the image, if you don't have permission, you would be stealing intellectual property, which is theft. Credit is not sufficient, and may or may not be necessary, depending on the image owner's choice, if they even give you permission to display it. Without permission you are not allowed to display it and may be legally liable for punitive damages and lawyers' fees if the image is registered. If the permission is not written, you would have a hard time proving it.
