Is that a fisheye lens?
No, it's just 6mm or 36mm FoV at FF. The I'm shooting up a bit and his glasses tilt down, giving the impression.
ah ha! I was out driving through the countryside wasting my Sunday away with my brother and we came upon an old abbey. We hopped out and I handed him the 5D with the 24-70 and took my 1dII with the 16-35. He hit me up mid-way for a photo from way too far away (don't think he's ever even touched an SLR before... I put it on green box mode for him), so here's damn near a 100% crop of me with the 1dII and the 16-35 . I think its the only photo of me with a camera in my hand.

I'm still looking for a picture from the movie 'the jackal' where bruce willis has this massive gun (although it's more a cannon ) with a big with lens attached on the top to focus and lock the target. And it makes this silly focusing noises
Well to relive an older post and curiosty (as I dont think any real definition was given). The gun used was a former Soviet Union ZPU-1 14.5mm cannon, with a sustained firing rate of 150 rounds per minute or a cyclic rate of 600 rounds per minute. Although the movie states it to be a ZSU3 of some sort, the ZSUs were anti-aircraft versions, usually provided on a platform of 2-4 guns in mobile or self-propelled mounts. The 14.5mm versions o fthe ZS units were quickly replaced with 23mm versions, so you wont find much on the 14.5mm ones, although the Chinese still produce one (or did), labeled a a Type 58 I believe, which is still in use by the Taliban (for a little more recent knowledge). You can google the weapons and although many will show slightly different barrels, they were designed to have quick change barrels due to overheating and several countries modified them to fit their needs (including the Czech Republic which I believe is where the movie states the gun came from).
Of more inportance to this forum is of course the lens mounted on the canon. It is apparently a Canon 500mm f/4.5L, attached to a yet unknown video camera.
Last Friday at the US Naval Academy graduation there were a number of Canons shooting the occasion. Seems the "official" Navy photogs were using Nikons though.

Anyone know what brand/model of monopod feet this is - three little (but very sturdy looking) feet attached at the bottom of the monopod?
Thanks

For Dear ml2005
I think this is what you want :-))
That hood doesn't look like the one I usually see on 16-35L. Is it a redesigned hood for the Mark II-version or is it just taken from a whole other lens?
