Looking to sell my Macbook Pro 16" M3 Max chip with the upgraded 16/40 cores, 48gb ram, and 2 tb SSD storage. It's in excellent condition, free of scratches or dents. Used very sparingly and the battery health is at 95% capacity, to reflect that. Screen is also very clean with no scratches. Will include the original box, OEM Apple charger, and a thunderbolt 4 cable. The MacBook has already been wiped to factory settings and the activation lock disabled (see photo), so it is ready to ship. Asking $1,700 which includes shipping and PayPal fees.

Can provide video proof and timestamps, or whatever you need to prove that this is legit. I'm also accepting PayPal Goods and Services which offers purchase protection. Any suggestions on how we can proceed other than (as another member suggested), shipping the item first, without any collateral?

Be weary of this post please. This exact Mac spec has been attempted to be sold at least twice before here on fredmiranda. I tried to buy it a few months ago and PayPal blocked the payment (exact same price of $1700 as well) saying it suspected fraud and was protecting my purchase. That/this same spec came up again a month later and somebody posted that the user ghosted them after payment. It looked identical to this Mac, same specs and all. Username (although different) was also written in a similar fashion and on a little white note tab of paper on the keyboard.
I will also add that when I tried to purchase a few months ago, the user also insisted on goods and services payment.

I knew it was a fraud, just testing the waters. Fred needs to address this situation. This forum is ideal for buying and selling, and I dislike when such individuals start disrupting it.

I've suggested before that users should have at least 50 posts and be registered members for at least two months before they can access the FS board. Of course, I doubt he'll implement these restrictions because doing so would mean less fee revenue for him.

The coward now claims the MacBook has been sold. It is unfortunate that Fred would allow such listings. It was obvious to me that the listing was a fraud as soon as I saw the low price and zero feedback.

I frequent often, and did not see multiples of this exact laptop at the same price. There was one with more memory that was 2 months old, from another user. People writing their user-name and date is a common method across the internet as well to demonstrate some form of authenticity.

I did buy the laptop, and this is far from the best deal I have seen on this site. People buy new things and upgrade or buy/sell all the time here that are too good to be true. I have good faith that the purchase is legit, if it is not, I will follow the guidelines and submit a claim to PayPal. Then I will let the moderators know.
I am not opposed to increased buy/sell restrictions, and we should strive to more civil on here. This forum is a gem of the internet for buying/selling.

You still can get scammed even if you use PayPal goods and service. It can take a quite a while to get your money back if you ever get your money back. Google it.
