One of Canon's finest. A truly special lens on Canon or adapted to Fujifilm medium format. Relisting with new photos. Here's your chance to own a legendary portrait and sports lens for less than the cost of a modern 70-200mm.
Lens is in ready to use condition, with RRS foot and (fairly worn) LensCoat included, alongside all the OEM accessories and parts (hard trunk with keys, leather cap, foot, hood, rear cap, and carrying strap).
Optics are very clean for the age of the lens and AF/aperture work smoothly. Minor internal dust, no fungus or haze/balsam. Several small hairline scratches on the front meniscus (should not impact image quality) and a few very fine coating scratches on the rear drop-in filter. In practice, with such a long focal length and wide aperture, none of it is noticeable. If you saw my prior listing, the lens hadn't been cleaned as thoroughly then (I have tried to minimize coating marks) and was reflecting light oddly. This is still a direct flash photo. No deep scratches, no chips, no cracks, no divots.
As you can see, relatively clean body, I'd say 8+ cosmetically overall.
Two quirks to know about: the hood is relatively loose on the bare lens (though it mounts and stays on), and the previous owner and I both used a layer of gaffer tape to prove more grip/stability. Happy to add a layer if you'd like. Also, there is a slight degree of play in the rear lens barrel, maybe two degrees or less. I received the lens in this condition (for both quirks) and they've never been an issue (nor changed in the past seven years).
