Looking for a decent tripod with good lateral arm to hover a Z8 directly over product.

I have an Oben tripod and I normally shoot product from an angle. I’d like to try shooting it all from above flat lay style but I don’t trust my Oben to stay sturdy.

Any suggestions in the $300 range?

Manfrotto ONE Photo Aluminum Tripod.

If you're using flash the arm doesn't have to be sturdy/steady, it just has to not collapse. Flash will freeze any motion the arm may impart.

I have one of these and it's pretty solid. I use a clamp-on weight to counter the camera.

If you are otherwise happy with your tripod just add a side arm such as the Manfrotto 131DB ($122) and add a counter weight. I have one of these and for overhead flat lays I mount them to my Manfrotto 161 MkII tripod. You can mount your tripod head to either end of this one, see this:
