Does anyone here own both bodies? If so, is there an appreciable difference in autofocus stickiness between the Z9 with the fw 5.0 update and the Z8 with fw version 3.11? Specially for BIF photography.

I don't have Z9. But was keeping an eye on FWs. He thinks the Z9 BEAF is close to Canon with latest FW.

I don't think Z8 is thst good. It struggles with long necked birds.

If it makes the Z8 shooters feel better, the Z9 didn't feel massively improved after 5.0, though it was noticeable. If you are close enough to your subject, 3.11 should be more than fine.
